Activism and remaining anonymous Changing how Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) treats the Medical Marijuana Program and the sick There have been many great men and women throughout history that have not only risked their homes and belongings, but their very lives for change. Sometimes you need to risk it all for your voice to be heard however, sometimes that is not possible, but you can still make a very big difference just by donating. I do not think you can stand in the shadows of anonymity and expect things to change without offering some form of support to the cause. I understand some people have a LOT to lose. There are ways to enact changes: send emails, send letters, put up flyers, make phone calls, sit-ins, protest, marching, and much, much more. These things can be sent to all forms of government and law enforcement. Carry a video camera everywhere you go, record anything you see LEO doing, and post the video to the web. These are all good ways to be active in the changing of how LEO handles Medical Marijuana. Activism: The taking of direct action to achieve a political or social end. Please note the “DIRECT” part. There are those among us who risked a great deal to get us this far. There are others who could do more by just coming forward or making a donation. No one should have to live in fear of appraisal from their own government or the people charged with their protection. We the people of Michigan (63% of us) have said Medical Marijuana is ok. So why the hell are we hiding in the shadows. If we let them get away with terrorizing Medical Marijuana card holders and sick people what’s next? Training our kids to rat us out (already doing it: DARE), “Your car is too old you can’t drive it anymore.”, “We don’t like the way your yard looks change it or we will take your land.”, “Pay us taxes or we will take your stuff and put you in jail.”, or “You can only have x# of kids.”, “You can only have sex on Monday.” etc. Do you see a pattern here? People did nothing and look what happened. Folks, we have fought a good fight, but we are not there yet, there is so much more that needs to be done. We need to commit to the cause. It has been proven one man can make a difference, so many should be able to move a mountain. If only for a little while let us put our disputes aside (i.e.: Care Giver’s, prices, do we need dispensaries, and whatever else we are bickering about) and join together as a united force to put a stop to the way our brothers and sisters are being treated. If we don’t do it now it may be you or me next, and when they have come for everyone, who then will be left to take up our fight? United we stand divided we fall. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)
